Additive Manufacture of Three Dimensional Nanocomposite Based Objects through Multiphoton Fabrication
نویسندگان
چکیده
Three-dimensional structures prepared from a gold-polymer composite formulation have been fabricated using multiphoton lithography. In this process, gold nanoparticles were simultaneously formed through photoreduction whilst polymerisation of two possible monomers was promoted. The monomers, trimethylopropane triacrylate (TMPTA) and pentaerythritol triacrylate (PETA) were mixed with a gold salt, but it was found that the addition of a ruthenium(II) complex enhanced both the geometrical uniformity and integrity of the polymerised/reduced material, enabling the first production of 3D gold-polymer structures by single step multiphoton lithography.

Selective Laser Sintering of Porous Silica Enabled by Carbon Additive
The aim of this study is to investigate the possibility of a freeform fabrication of porous ceramic parts through selective laser sintering (SLS). SLS was proposed to manufacture ceramic green parts because this additive manufacturing technique can be used to fabricate three-dimensional objects directly without a mold, and the technique has the capability of generating porous ceramics with cont...
متن کاملNanofabrication inside Microfluidic Chips for Biomimetic Wet-Spinning of Fibres
Microfluidics is an established multidisciplinary research domain with widespread applications in the fields of medicine, biotechnology and engineering. Conventional production methods of microfluidic chips have been limited to planar structures, preventing the exploitation of truly three-dimensional architectures for applications such as multi-phase droplet preparation or wet-phase fibre spinn...
متن کاملProcess Planning for Additive/subtractive Solid Freeform Fabrication Using Medial Axis Transform
Additive/Subtractive Solid Freeform Fabrication (SFF) integrates material addition (deposition) and removal (machining) to build up three-dimensional objects incrementally. This class of processes offers sophisticated design flexibility with engineering materials, three-dimensional layer building, and the ability to fabricate complex engineering devices and multi-material objects. However, plan...
متن کاملDesign and optimization of a light-emitting diode projection micro-stereolithography three-dimensional manufacturing system.
The rapid manufacture of complex three-dimensional micro-scale components has eluded researchers for decades. Several additive manufacturing options have been limited by either speed or the ability to fabricate true three-dimensional structures. Projection micro-stereolithography (PμSL) is a low cost, high throughput additive fabrication technique capable of generating three-dimensional microst...
متن کاملModeling and Fabrication of Heterogeneous Three-dimensional Objects based on Additive Manufacturing
Heterogeneous object modeling and fabrication has been studied in the past few decades. Recently the idea of digital materials has been demonstrated by using Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes. Our previous study illustrated that the mask-image-projection based Stereolithography (MIP-SL) process is promising in fabricating such heterogeneous objects. In the paper, we present an integrated fr...
